From Songkran Festival to Thailand Cultural Month: PANJIT Builds a Cross-Cultural Exchange Platform Where Understanding Becomes Part of Everyday Work

At PANJIT, employees from diverse countries and cultural backgrounds come together with a shared purpose, while mutual understanding strengthens collaboration and team cohesion.

As the Company continues to welcome international talent, cultural exchange has become more than part of the workplace—it is an essential foundation for building trust, collaboration, and an inclusive organizational culture. PANJIT believes that every culture deserves to be recognized, and every employee deserves to be understood. By creating more opportunities for meaningful interaction, the Company strives to embed respect, inclusion, and cultural appreciation into everyday work.

Building on the positive response to last year's Songkran Festival celebration, PANJIT expanded the initiative into Thailand Cultural Month this year. Centered around the themes of "Discovering, Understanding, and Celebrating Thai Culture," the month-long program featured cultural exhibitions, Cultural Ambassadors, interactive experiences, and Songkran celebration activities.

Rather than limiting cultural exchange to a single festive occasion, PANJIT aimed to make intercultural understanding part of daily workplace interactions. The initiative also enabled Thai employees to celebrate one of the most important traditional festivals from their homeland, helping them stay connected to their cultural roots while feeling supported and valued by the Company.

For Thai employees, Thailand Cultural Month was more than a celebration of familiar traditions—it conveyed the message that their culture is seen, respected, and appreciated. For colleagues from other backgrounds, it provided an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of different cultures and the people behind them. Through cultural understanding, trust grows naturally, forming a stronger foundation for teamwork and collaboration.

Starting with Cultural Understanding, Bringing Connection into Everyday Work

Compared with previous years, when activities focused primarily on celebrating Songkran Festival, this year's most significant enhancement was the expansion into a month-long Thailand Cultural Month, extending opportunities for cultural engagement throughout April.

During the event, PANJIT organized a cultural exhibition introducing the origins of Songkran Festival, Thai cuisine, popular tourist destinations, traditional attire, and blessing customs. The exhibition offered employees a deeper understanding of Thailand's history, traditions, and everyday culture.

Beyond the exhibition, Thai employees were invited to serve as Cultural Ambassadors, sharing stories about their hometowns and traditional customs. This transformed cultural exchange from simply delivering information into genuine conversations between colleagues. Through photo activities and interactive cultural experiences, employees from different departments and nationalities were encouraged to connect, communicate, and learn from one another in a relaxed and engaging atmosphere.

Strengthening Connections Through Cultural Celebrations

As one of the signature events of Thailand Cultural Month, PANJIT continued its annual Songkran celebration by inviting managers and employees from different nationalities to participate in traditional Thai blessing ceremonies.

Following Thai tradition, Thai employees respectfully sprinkled scented water over their managers' hands to express gratitude and offer blessings, while managers returned their best wishes in appreciation. The celebration continued with the traditional water-splashing activity, where laughter and joyful interactions created memorable experiences for everyone involved.

The event not only allowed Thai employees to reconnect with an important cultural tradition but also gave colleagues from diverse backgrounds the opportunity to experience firsthand the values, customs, and spirit behind the festival.

Creating a More Inclusive Workplace Through Cultural Exchange

The expansion from a Songkran celebration to Thailand Cultural Month represents more than an enhancement of event programming—it reflects PANJIT's ongoing commitment to building an inclusive and people-centered workplace.

PANJIT believes that the true value of cultural exchange lies not in temporary events, but in creating meaningful opportunities for employees to understand one another. When people from different cultural backgrounds are encouraged both to share their own stories and to learn about others, respect and trust naturally become part of everyday interactions, strengthening teamwork across the organization.

Looking ahead, PANJIT will continue promoting multicultural engagement and employee well-being by fostering an open, inclusive, and supportive working environment where every employee feels respected, valued, and empowered to contribute. Through mutual understanding and collaboration, the Company will continue building a more cohesive organization and advancing its long-term sustainable development goals.
